Spring-ing into the School Holidays

It's starting to warm up in Sydney and another 10 week term is almost at an end. It feels like not long ago we were planning for the last holiday block and we've noticed things have definitely changed up for all see and do musts with the kids these holidays - all close to the Mascot area! After drop-offs, pick-ups, packing lunch boxes and running around to swimming lessons and soccer games - it's important to cherish the holidays as dedicated bonding time with the kids (plus celebrate with a wine or two once they head to bed).

From the new additions to the Grounds of Alexandria installation, the latest Hijinx Hotel, and our favourites like Ice Zoo and Archie Brothers Cirque Electric.

Sydney is always one of the most active locations to spend the school holiday period, and as usual there are new shows, exhibitions, experiences and activities being announced weekly. We will keep this list up to date, so check back to see any new things that may make this September school holidays a memorable one for your family.

Now - Mid to late October

The Grounds of Alexandria has transformed into a topsy-turvy world inspired by the works of Lewis Carroll, where not everything is as it seems. Step in to a whole new world as you explore the laneways through the looking glass, to experience the one and only classic, Alice in Wonderland.

Ice Zoo

Holiday Timetable from 24th September

It is a little bit cold for a dip still, and at Ice Zoo you could say it is frozen! Lucky for us, Ice Zoo is just around the corner. A spacious ice skating rink for a day of family fun!

The rink is open for both the young and young at heart - and don't fret if you think you may have lost your talents, frames are available to help you balance on the ice.

Children's tickets start at just $10 per session, or a family of four can test their skills for only $60 per session.

Archie Brothers Cirque Electriq

Every day

This quirky filled area of Alexandria is the perfect place to hide out when the weather is not ideal for the outdoors. You’ve got indoor warehouses for climbing, boozing (for the grown ups) and bouldering, like Sky Zone, Rocks Brewery and 9 Degrees. Inside the venue, it's arcade games galore, bowling lanes, an interactive 3D theatre ride (our pick of the whole venue), an eerie arena for laser tag that’s really built for kids, and dodgem cars to really test the driving skills. Even the food and drink menu is whacky and fun , from coloured burger buns and show stopping drinks to fire up the tastebuds.

Every day

Right next door to Archie Brothers Cirque Electiq is the Hijinx Hotel an immersive interactive game experience. Housed within the theme, wonder and theatre of a quirky New York hotel, these 15 rooms are reimagined into quick play, challenge rooms. Each room within a set is designed for 2-6 players, and your group must score as many points as possible within 4 minutes, before moving on to the next room within your allocated set, perfect for family fun! Pricing from $20pp | Recommended minimum age is 5 years old.
