This year we're lucky that the Easter Long Weekend ties into the school holidays, meaning heaps more time to take them to see Sydney's iconic annual festivities. The Easter Show will run from the 12th April - 23 April at the Sydney Showground in Sydney Olympic Park. First held in 1823, the Show is Australia's largest annual ticketed event, attracting over 850,000 attendees on average, and it's easy to see why with so many things to see and do ranging from animals, arts & crafts, the wood-chopping (our personal favourite), showjumping and rides galore! Junior Keepers is a specially designed hands-on day for children aged 8 - 11 years old who are keen to work with animals or in the conservation field when they grow up.
Guided by our team of experienced and dedicated staff, small groups of up to 15 participants will learn the daily routines and responsibilities of a Taronga Keeper. Through a range of interactive activities and special behind the scenes visits, Junior Keeper participants will have up close encounters with some of Taronga’s Australian Native animals and learn how to care for and protect them into the future.
Sugar Republic is Australia’s ‘must see’ exhibition for anyone who ever hit a sugar high, slammed a Tim Tam or jumped for joy at the sound of a Mr. Whippy van.
